The Journey
This five part initiation into the living heart and ancestral soul of the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition is intended to awaken in every participant who completes the program, a remembrance of their incarnational purpose as luminous strands of the Great Web of Life in service to the Seven Generations.
The Pachakuti Mesa Tradition: Cross-Cultural Shamanic Arts for Personal and Planetary Renewal is a five-part series of intensives that aligns the traditional teachings of Peru and the wisdom of its heritage with the needs of the present day.

This apprenticeship workshop initiates participants into the Pachakuti Mesa, a powerful and sacred altar. Students learn how to create their own mesas and work with them for self-empowerment, transformation, and helping others.
Through shamanic journey and visionary states of consciousness, participants will explore the three worlds of the Andean cosmovision, sacred reciprocity with all that is, the core ingredients of ceremonial mastery, sacred sound and ritual language, healing and curanderismo, and the inner world of the ukhupacha.

During this workshop intensive, participants will apprentice in the center of the mesa, traditional Peruvian healing practices, and the kaypacha, the middle world.
They will explore the kaypacha’s elemental matrix and magico-spiritual power, and learn about the moon’s presence in the middle world, mapping the cosmos on Earth, and celestial death and rebirth.

This workshop is an initiation into the paqokuna, the Andean Shaman/Priesthood mystical path, the lineage of the sacred mountains, and the five virtues of the mesa.
Participants will also journey to and experience the hanaqpacha, the upper world beyond the physical, work with the unseen world there and deepen their connection to their own spiritual resources.

In this apprenticeship workshop students will experience the upper world and learn about its lightning bolt of mystical illumination and the flow of kamasqa, the power of Creation.
They will work with the elements, the forces of the universe, the body of Mother Earth, and sacred healing objects.
In sacred reciprocity participants will create despachos to honor Mother Earth, the sacred mountains, the elements, the unseen world, and prepare for a paqowachu, a sacred pilgrimage.

APACHETA TRIP

This workshop deepens participants’ experience of soul and spirit through ritual process, including the spiritual creation, activation and care of an apacheta.
Students will work with the power of creation in the kaypacha or middle world, dimensionality and time, as well as with the three suns, and the hampikamayoq process (ancient breathing techniques for physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being and transformation).
Participants will be further empowered by evoking both seen and unseen sources of cosmic awareness within their mesa, sacred objects and own being, and initiation into the lineage of this revered tradition.

In this apprenticeship workshop, students will sit in a final integration council. Here they will be encouraged to share their Paqowachu stories, and experieces of the apprenticeship.
They will be given mythic mirroring of their sacred journey of both the apprenticeship and their Paqowachu (if completed) by the Maestra and students alike. They will make their final claiming as a mesa carrier apprentice.
Note: this is an additional element from the standard foundational apprenticeship, designed by Shardai, to support our international hoop schedule.

Due to the nature of our extended breaks away from each other, Shardai will host a monthly council call via zoom, for us to stay connected. It will also serve as a q&a and check-in around your mesa practices.

Each August we will be staying at the magical Mu Garden Sanctuary on the Hilo side of the big island.
Our spacious and acoustic medicine lodge will hold the bulk of our teaching & ceremonial time. Featuring a crystal geodesic dome, outdoor private showers, cob sauna, bonfire, & Goddess bathing tubs...
Each participant with have a clean and simple shared glamping room with one other student and access to our communal bathrooms featuring fresh outdoor showers. Personal tent camping options available to locals once the rooms fill.
The tropical grounds, uncluding a beautiful creek, and ancient trees, are ours for holding earth-honoring ceremony and nature connection practices. We will be going on outings off-site to the Goddess cave and volcano as she calls us, between sessions.

February we will be staying at the lovely Ocean Spirit Retreat Center on the Kona side of the big island.
Our spacious medicine lodge will hold the bulk of our teaching & ceremonial time. Featuring balcony views of the Kealakekua bay, infamously home to the sounds and sights of spinner dolphins, and migrating whales.
Each participant with have a spacious shared room and private bathroom with one other student, with ocean views.. Private cottages are available should you prefer to rent one at your own cost.
The 5.5 acre grounds are ours for holding earth-honoring ceremony. We will be going on outings off-site to visit the sea turtles and dolphins in Kealakekua bay, during our apprenticeship week.

Shardai Moon, is your Sanctioned PMT Teacher for this year-long apprenticeship. Having started her journey with this lineage in 2014, she continues to integrate and live its profound teachings in her everyday life. She hopes to engender a sense of belonging, empowerment, and connection with each of her students. Through her intuition ceremonial creations, and moments of deep stillness and surrender, she invites us into communication with our ancient ones. It is her honor to be carrying this lineage to the far-off destinations of Hawai'i and Morocco, and infusing her Priestess medicine into her shamanic path.

You will be provided island-fresh meals each day while in session. Vegan, vegetarian, fish & gluten free options. You are responsible for your own snacks or special items.

Cancellation:
When you register for the apprenticeship, you do so with the intent to join for the whole series, unless otherwise discussed. Its not possible to drop-in to other retreats as they must be taken in order.

We understand unforeseen circumstances may arise that prevent you from attending all retreats. If so, please notify Shardai 90 days prior to start of next retreat.
If you sincerely do not feel a soul calling to continue after our first retreat, please notify Shardai within 30 days after our 1st retreat completion.
Unfortunately, due to the upfront retreat and lodging costs, last minute emergency cancelations cannot be refunded. However, your tuition portion can be credited towards your next hoop with Shardai.

Questions
Is this religous?
This is not a religious organization or system of dogmatic belief. This is an ancient tradition and a lifeway that holds particular organizational principles to support you in your path of self-discovery. Many people come here to heal from religious trauma, or to incorporate their religion into a more universal worldview.
What if I'm nervous to commit to a full year?
We hear you! Its a life-changing commitment that may feel overwhelming at first. We invite you to take the next step of joining our first retreat. We trust after that retreat you will find your clarity. Simply let us know within 30 days if you intend to NOT continue. However, we do find that a strong sense of commitment from the beginning does support your process.
What if I'm new to this?
This experience is open to both experienced and first-time students of shamanism. The style of teaching is rooted in indigenous experiential-based, multi-generational, village-style learning. So long as you come with pure intention and open curiosity, you will find a sense of belonging.
Is this cultural appropriation?
Thank you for asking! Each teacher is sanctioned personally by our lineage originator, don Oscar. He has intentionally created a curriculum specifically for westernized people to be able to digest and utilize these teachings from the South, while keeping their integrity. In that way it is our ongoing task to appropriately honor the culture while integrating it into our western lives.
How will I learn?
Your primary learning tool will be hands-on ceremony, complemented by didactic teachings from our lineage-based curriculum. You will receive a binder with handouts for each module. Our time will be primarily spent in our medicine lodge and outdoors (weather permitting) with spaciousness between modules to rest or adventure. For those on the year-long journey we will also gather virtually in between retreats to practice and hold council via zoom.
Why this training?
This training is unique, in that it anchors you firmly to a predictable and stable structure, while also allowing and encouraging personal expression and growth. Many community members find greater access to their authentic selves and a sense of belonging rather than feeling 'different.'
Do I become a Shaman after this training?
In short, no. That is a title we understand has created harm to native cultures with its mindless adoption by many westerners. Yet you do become an initiate of the Great Work of personal and global transformation and evolution of consciousness...a valued member of our global community. You become a 'Mesa Carrier,' shamanic practitioner & ceremonialist, gaining greater access in our larger community to both receive and offer your gifts.
Do I become certified?
No. Some advanced trainings offer certification, to which this apprenticeship is a pre-requisite. We are here to offer you a foundational life-way and powerful indigenous tool, that you can translate into your personal or professional services as inspired. Many apprentices use their altars in their healing practice or ceremonies, as well as their own daily practice. You are given permission to teach our intro workshop and despacho ceremony as a part of your training.
